Creating Anchor Texts
One tip SEO experts would give in order to come up with a website that is SEO compliant is to ensure that you have anchor texts. What is an anchor text? Anchor Text, maybe referred to by article writers or companies as keyword phrases. Normally, keyword phrases are hooked or connected to other websites which can be linked or connected with other pages you have within your site or could be connected or linked to other websites or pages created by other bloggers.
The reason why you would want to consider having good anchor texts is because of the fact that search engines would easily understand the topic and content of the pages that you are referring to. The anchor text you would be linking to another page should at least provide for the basic idea of what the page you are linking to is all about. One of the articles I used to write for one previous company would ask me to use keyword phrases such as “best airsoft rifles”, “airsoft rifles”, and “airsoft revolvers.” All of these are linked to a website or URL that speaks of or discusses about the top airsoft rifles. If these keywords would not be used, then the article or web content would not have better anchor texts.
Again, without creating better anchor texts, your website or URL would not be SEO compliant or may even not be optimized for any search engine. The goal as to why we would want our websites to be SEO, is to be able to direct traffic into our site so viewers, and other internet users would be led to our website, read on what we have or purchase products that we are selling online.
Regardless to say, we should bear in mind that the anchor text we should be using should not be off tangent or totally unrelated to the website we are referring to. This is one of the common problems that SEO writers have been encountering. Articles and web content often does not have anything to do with the website or even the content of the website they are linking to their own. This would then damage the credibility of your website, and for sure, if spread through word of mouth, you would definitely have a very few visitors.
Anchor texts should also not be the actual web address or URL of the website you are trying to refer to. This would make your article or content totally off tangent. Imagine you are trying to discuss about fitness and diet when all of a sudden, in the middle of your discussion, the URL or actual website appears. What impression would your readers get? They might simply not finish your whole article or read the whole content of your site and get pissed off.
Remember that your anchor text must be concise, accurate, and totally have something relevant or connected to the contents or website that you are referring to whether it be internally or externally. The links or reference should also be easy to spot and click on. Again, this would simply be in consideration of a first-time page viewer or page visitor. They can easily click on the text that has a relationship with the data or information that you are discussing. Anchor texts make your website fully SEO compliant.
